Health-Promoting Behaviors Questionnaire
So you're saying you want to make a health-promoting behavior change.
Well, the rest of this page and all the additional resources are geared towards you doing that.
I want to help you help yourself close the gap between saying you want to do something and actually doing it. And doing it consistently.
More Health-Promoting Behaviors = Better Health Outcomes
There is no one-size-fits-all method for making health-promoting behavior changes.
Imagine you just took a picture with your phone. You want to post the photo to Instagram or send it to your friend but you want to add a filter to it first. You may have a filter you love to use all the time. Or you may decide to go through a bunch of filters before you finally decide which one makes you the happiest with that specific photo.
This is not unlike how I like to view any type of behavior change. There are many "change filters" you can use to add a health-promoting behavior that you are interested in. No one "change filter" works for every context for every individual. You simply familiarize yourself with each one, then experiment, until you discover which one helps you close the gap between “saying” and “doing”.
Below, I introduce five "change filters". Pick a health-promoting behavior you would like to start consistently doing OR a behavior you would like to do more often. Work through the change filters until you feel like you found what works best for you. Select the dropdown to view the content.
